1. I will need volunteers who can help me out, Because my tournament will not be too big one or two people will be enough these volunteers can be students.
2. I will need a list of equipment and other things that I am going to need the list of things I need is:
A. 10 footballs.
B. 3 different colored bibs so teams can be made.
C. Cups and water so people can drink during the tournament.
D. Some sort of prize, For my audience(Grades 6-10) confectionery of some sort would be suitable.
E. Access to the changing rooms so people can change into their sports gear.
F. Teacher supervision, 1 teacher for every 10 students.
G. White board and pen to create the schedule of matches and write scores on.
I. The major rules of football.
J. Papers on reflection at the end of the tournament, plenty of pens and pencils.
K. Sign up sheet with information so people know when and which day the tournament starts.
L. 1 whistle.
K. A camera or video recorder so I have proof my product is done.
3. I need to set a date for the tournament which has been set, on Sunday 30th January.
4. I will need to make sure people around the school know about this tournament, I will hang up sign up sheets around the school and ask people during breaks and lunch if they are interested in playing on Sunday.
5. Rules will need to be created for the tournament because it isn't like regular football.
A. There will be no offsides.
B. The ball will be kicked in when it goes over one of the sidelines.
C. The goalkeeper cannot drop kick the ball but must throw it or kick the ball on the floor.
D. 7 Minutes per half, 2 halves per game and teams switch sides when the second half begins.
E. Extra points will be awarded for good sportsmanship behavior
F. The point system will be as following: 1 goal= 1 point, extra points maybe awarded for good sportsmanship this is also maximum 1 point per game.
G. The teams with the most points wins.
H. There will be four teams.
These are the only exceptional rules from normal football rules
6. I will need a detailed schedule of how the day will go.
03:00 PM - Participants arrive at school
03:00-03:15 PM - Time to change and prepare for tournament
03:15-03:30 PM - Introduction to my project and what sportsmanship is
03:30-03:35 PM - Explanation of rules
03:35-03:45 PM - Time to discuss team tactics and a look at the schedule so teams know when they have to play
03:45-04:00 PM - Start of the 1st game.
04:00-04:05 PM - Time to reflect on the game
04:05-04:20 PM - Start if 2nd game
04:20-04:25 PM - Time to reflect on 2nd game
04:25-05:05 PM - 2 more matches and time for reflection
05:05-05:10 PM - 5 minutes break
05:10-05:25 PM - Beginning of matches again
05:25-05:30 PM - Reflection time
05:30-05-50 PM - Last game, announcement of winner and verdict of the day.
05:50-06:00 PM - End of tournament, players have time to change and can go home.
7. I will need to prepare for the tournament. The preparation having paper and pencils with me so teams can reflect and right their tactics. I will also need to bring a camera which I have at home so that I can take pictures and videos.

ReplyDeleteThanks for the work. Ideally you need a range of sources for your project so perhaps interviewing a member of the P.E. dept, reviewing coaching manuals, watching youtube training clips etc might be wise.
